Expedition to the self

Expedition zum Ich

Who am I, what defines me, what values and goals do I have? Finding answers to these questions opens the door to a life in which we feel completely genuine, connected and good. We then do what we are good at and enjoy doing it because we are gifted at it. We are motivated and convinced and feel that we are in the right place because we are living in harmony with our values and ideals. Relationships with our fellow human beings, family, partner, friends, colleagues and acquaintances can also be shaped more positively through increased self-confidence, clarity and openness. It is therefore very worthwhile, the expedition to our ego.

Take your time

"Today I'm going to treat myself and visit myself. I hope I'm at home," Karl Valentin said, and that's a really good idea! Let's make an appointment with ourselves and have a really good conversation with ourselves. Let's show interest, let's ask ourselves:

  • Where do I develop energy, where do I feel myself waking up?
  • What topics can I spend hours on and forget the time?
  • What do I want to stand up for?
  • How do I want to live?
  • What makes me happy?
  • With which people do I feel good, with which not?
  • What role models do I have?
  • What would I do if money was no object?
  • Or if I only had one year left to live?
  • What would I like to be able to say about myself and my life at the end of my time?

By the way: This time for yourself can also be a little longer - for example, a week's vacation where you travel alone.

Pay attention to emotions

Emotions are a good compass on the expedition to the self, both positive and negative feelings. They show us what is important to us. What fills us with energy, makes us feel alive and alert, in which situations we feel relaxed, happy and secure, but also what makes us angry, sad, anxious or envious, gives us clues as to which values we want to defend.

Test yourself

This personality test takes about ten minutes and is divided into 16 different personality types. Try it out - perhaps you will recognize yourself?
