VeganPlus from GSE:
Useful food supplement for vegan or vegetarian lifestyles
There are many good reasons to avoid animal-based foods. Ethical concerns, health aspects or the decision to adopt a more climate-friendly lifestyle are just three of them.
However, if you choose to eat without meat, dairy products, eggs etc., you need to pay particular attention to ensuring that you get the nutrients they contain from other sources. This is not always easy, especially if you don't have the time or inclination to cook fresh meals with lots of vegetables, pulses and wholegrains every day.
VeganPlus from GSE helps to fill potential gaps. It supplies the body with purely plant-based vitamin B12, iron, vitamin D3, iodine and calcium - i.e. precisely those vital micronutrients that are most likely to be deficient in a vegetarian or vegan diet.
Vitamin B12 from chlorella
The body needs vitamin B12 (also known as cobalamin) for numerous tasks such as Energy metabolism, immune system, nerves and psyche. There is an increased need, for example, if you are under a lot of stress, are taking certain medications or are pregnant or breastfeeding. As most sources of B12 are of animal origin, supplementation can also be useful for vegetarian or vegan diets.
The vitamin B12 in VeganPlus is gently extracted from chlorella - the unicellular green algae that develops its irrepressible vitality when exposed to sunlight. In contrast to synthetic vitamin B12 supplements, our tablets contain highly bioavailable B12, which the body recognizes as a natural foodstuff.
Plant-based iron from the curry leaf
Iron is primarily known for its positive effect on the blood formation which in turn is responsible for a good oxygen transport, immunological processes and the energy metabolism is important. If the daily diet includes many iron-rich foods such as meat, dairy products, green vegetables, whole grains and berries, the supply of this vital mineral is usually ensured.
However, the requirement increases during growth, heavy menstruation, the intake of some medications and high physical exertion. A purely vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, in which some of the main sources are eliminated, can also justify additional iron supplements.
In VeganPlus we use a ferrous gluconate instead of synthetic iron organic extract from Indian curry leaf (Murraya koenigii). In this form, the iron very well bioavailable and also optimally tolerated by the stomach.
Vitamin D3 from lichen
We need vitamin D3 e.g. for immune systema good absorption of the bone-building minerals calcium and phosphorus as well as a normal Muscle function. It is called the "sun vitamin" because the body can produce it itself to a certain extent - provided there is sufficient natural UV light on the skin every day. Because this often does not happen (especially in winter) and vitamin D3 is only found in very few foodsmost people benefit from an additional intake of D3. Vegetarians and vegans should pay particular attention to their vitamin D3 levels because most sources of D3 are animal-based.
The highly bioavailable vitamin D3 in VeganPlus comes from the so-called reindeer lichen Cladonia Rangiferina and is also suitable for people with a plant-based diet. The daily intake of 10 µg in 2 tablets is sufficient to cover the needs of an adult.
Iodine from seaweed
As you probably know, iodine is an essential trace element for the normal functioning of the thyroid gland. The fact that it also has important functions for the cognitive functionthe nervous system, the energy metabolism and the skin is less well known.
In a so-called omnivorous or pescetarian diet, where sea fish is regularly eaten, iodine deficiency is usually not a problem. However, if you do not want to eat fish, the use of iodized table salt alone is sometimes not enough. An excellent source of iodine is seaweed, which is incidentally the only reason why (algae-eating) fish contains iodine. So why take the detour via fish?
2 tablets VeganPlus contain 75 µg easily absorbable iodine from seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum - and thus provides you with iodine without contributing to the overfishing of our oceans.
Calcium from red algae
It is now well known that algae contain iodine. But did you know that some types of algae are also an excellent plant-based source of vital calcium? Our body needs it for Teeth, bones and musclesthe energy metabolism, the cell division, the blood clotting and the normal function of digestive enzymes.
The red algae Lithothamnium calcareum even has the versatile mineral in its name. It has the unique ability to bind minerals such as calcium from the sea, which gives it unusual stability and an almost coral-like appearance. The honeycomb-like structure of this calcium makes it very difficult for humans to absorb, unlike some synthetic forms of calcium. ideally bioavailable.
Free from undesirable accompanying substances
As a pioneer in the field of organic herbal food supplements, GSE controls the raw materials used for VeganPlus from cultivation to the finished product. This means that harmful and other undesirable substances do not make it into our food supplements or into your body.
