Our oceans are full of gifts for our well-being. One particularly valuable source of nutrients that has been used for thousands of years is various algae - including chlorella. The single-celled microalgae form in fresh water, where they photosynthesize when exposed to sunlight. Chlorella algae are intensely green due to their high natural chlorophyll content.
Its favorable nutrient composition rightly brought chlorella into the focus of nutritional research several years ago. Above all its high content of vital, organically bound vitamin B12 makes it an interesting food supplement. It also provides easily utilizable iron. Multi-talented vitamin B12
Energy metabolism, immune system, nerves and psyche - Many bodily functions mainly depend on us getting enough vitamin B12 in our daily diet. In some life situations, the requirement is increased, for example in the case of stress in the Pregnancy and breastfeeding or during the permanent taking certain medications . According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the appropriate daily intake of B12 for adults is at least 2.5 µg (= 100 % NRV).
Why vitamin B12 from Chlorella microalgae?
Vitamin B12 is a rare nutrient that is only found in a few foods. Almost all sources of B12 are animal-based, which puts people with a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle at a particular disadvantage. This makes non-animal and non-synthetic sources of B12 such as chlorella all the more interesting - especially for GSE as a manufacturer of plant-based food supplements. Another advantage: chlorella contains vitamin B12 in excellent bioavailable form form.

The algae for our chlorella products are subject to strict controls in accordance with the strict guidelines of the Naturland cultivation association in outdoor aquaculture tanks - naturally without pesticides or herbicides. As they do not grow in seawater, but in drinking water, contamination with heavy metals, microplastics or radioactivity is also quickly and completely ruled out. Once the algae have reached the ideal state of maturity, they are harvested and quickly dried in order to preserve their sensitive ingredients. Neither the microfine algae powder, which we fill into light-protected jars at the German GSE plant, nor the tablets ("pellets") contain any other additives. This means you can always be sure of receiving premium quality chlorella without harmful or other undesirable additives.
